Minutes of meeting of Parent’s Teacher Meeting

A meeting of the Parent’s teacher took place on 7^th May’2012 in the Vijay Hall at 11.00 a.m. It was chaired by the Principal BPS. Col (Ret’d) V N Ratnakar, Chairman Management Committee and Director, BET was kind to give his gracious presence and the following were present :-

(2) Headmistress (Jr. Section)

(3) Academic Co-ordinator

(4) Faculty members ( Sr., Middle & Jr. Sec.)

(5) Parents ( Sr., Middle & Jr. Sec.)

The Headmaster Middle Section Mr. A.B. Sati introduced the Principal and Director, BET and requested the Principal to address the parents present.

The Principal welcomed all the parents and the following points were discussed:-

1. Renovation of bathrooms and toilets of Middle Houses will be completed before the re-opening of the school i.e. 30^th June’2012.

2. Due to increase in strength of Middle Section some boys have been accommodated in the Loyalka House. However a proposal has been made to construct a New Hostel building for Middle Section.

3. There will be Complete automation of all the process of the school through School Management Software System. It includes Academics, Mess, Tuckshop, Stores, Hostel, registration process, Fees Structures, Circular, salary, events etc. Data entry is going on and it is already tested and verified and hopefully it will be completed within the summer vacation. The parents will get all the necessary information through this system.

4. This time school has started accepting school fee through RTGS. The Parents can directly transfer the fees through this system without making any bank draft.

5. The school is starting its own Bakery for the students during the academic year. Bread, Patties, Pastry Biscuits etc will be available in the school itself.

6. There is also a proposal to start a well furnished and equipped cafeteria for students. It shall provide snacks cold drinks, shakes etc. for the refreshment of the students.

7. Apart from the above, a proposal for parasailing and shooting range is also under active consideration.

8. As academics is the core activity, allout efforts are being made to prepare the boys for competitive examination. NDA Coaching is taking place during May’2012 it self, along with special coaching for IIT & PMT, etc. For classes up to secondary level, special focus is given on improving basic skills of writing, mathematical ability and communication skills.

9. The School has already achieved average aggregate of 76% and the target for 2013 is 80%.

10. The principal requested the house to select two parent representatives who will become member of the Management committee.Finally after deliberations/ discussion the parents nominated two parent members unanimously. Parents warmly responded and suggested names of Dr. Raghu Veer Singh Meel father of Master Bhanu Pratap Chodhury ,House No. 8047, Kanad House of Chirawa Govt. Hospital and Dr. Chandra Shekhar, Asstt. Professor Department of Mathematics BITS and father of Pranjal Jaswal, House No. DS 631. These names were duly approved.

11. The Director and Chairperson of SMC Col. V.N. Ratnakar addressed the gathering and gave very valuable tips to parents for grooming of their wards. He also exhorted the parents to help the school in achieving still higher accomplishments.

12. One of the old boys as well as parent of present student Karanveer Mr. Avnish Saharan requested the director to restart the gliding facility. The Director told the gathering that there were issues related to technical aspects , funding of the facility etc. moreover gliding was very risk prone activity and parents had a hitch in giving consent for such activities.
